On the southern slopes of Mount Merapi, with an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level, in Special Distric of Yogyakarta , the snake fruit is known as salacca endulis.

The texture of the flesh of this snake fruit is thick and crunchy, and the taste is delightful because it is grown organically with volcanic soil. This type of snake fruit has been named the leading snake fruit from Indonesia. This snake fruit has been exported to various countries in Asia and Europe, making it better known to foreign countries.
